HTC One (M7) Android Lollipop update news [updated: new video shows Android 5.0 running on HTC One]

Lollipop Lollipop Lollipop, it’s all we’ve talked about for months now. But until (almost) every last Android handset has been updated, it won’t be far from our thoughts. HTC promised its fans a 90-day turnaround for delivering the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to its flagship devices. So, when is the Android 5.0 Lollipop update coming to the HTC One (M7)? Update: Towards the end of last week, HTC leakster LlabTooFeR informed us of HTC’s plans for the One M7. Currently, HTC is rolling out the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update to its Google Play Edition devices (the versions of the devices running the stock Android interface), so if you’re an owner of such a device, head to your settings > about phone page to see if you’re due the update. The .1 portion of the update contains some minor bug fixes and security updates, but you won’t notice any big changes from Android 5.0.

HTC has previously stated that Android 5.0 Lollipop update will arrive to the original HTC One (M7) by January 3rd, but that deadline has been and gone with no sign of Lollipop. You can check out the original news story here.

Update: @LlabTooFeR has tweeted to say that Android 5.0.2 will be coming to the HTC One (M7), but that this might be the last major update that the device sees. The Android Dev is often in-the-know regarding HTC updates and has just recently broken news about the HTC One (M8)’s update schedule. See the original M7 tweet below.
